Comment:
Cosao (10709) = Endangered (80 percent certain, based on the evidence available) (66 fluent speakers in China. No vitality info are available on those living in Laos. The percentage of people who CANNOT speak Cosao: age 0-5: 100% age 6-15: 26.3% age 16-25: 4.7% age 26-50: 5% age 51 and above: 0%)

(see Bai 2015)

Cosao, a newly discovered language on the border of Laos and China, is missing from E16/E17/E18/E19/E20/E21/E22/E23/E24/E25/E26/E27 ( Bai, Bibo and Xianming Xu 2015 ). It is probably in the Bi-Ka subgroup of Sino-Tibetan but mutually unintelligible with any of them. I wish to thank Andrew Hsiu for bringing this language and the work of Bai, Bibo and Xianming Xu 2015 to my attention.
