The Sinitic variety of Wenzhou and surroundings is traditionally counted as a divergent Wu dialect and hence subsumed in the Wu Chinese [wuu] entry in E16/E17/E18/E19/E20/E21/E22/E23/E24/E25/E26/E27/E28. However, Wenzhou is not intelligible to Suzhou (a North Wu dialect) by any measure Chaoju Tang 2009 and thus merits a seperate entry. See also: Wu Chinese [wuu].
