Comment:
Pidgin, Nigerian (pcm-pcm) = 3 (Wider communication). De facto language of national identity. The Portuguese were the first Europeans to make contact with the region now a part of modern-day Nigeria. Portuguese (more specifically, Old Galician-Portuguese) served as the foundation upon which the later influence of British English was laid for Nigerian Pidgin. Lingua franca across Nigeria.
