Comment:
Fongoro (570-fgr) = Critically Endangered (60 percent certain, based on the evidence available)

(see Lewis et al. 2015)

E16/E17/E18/E19/E20/E21/E22/E23/E24/E25/E26/E27/E28 lists Fongoro [fgr] as a separate language of the Dar Fongoro region Chad (highly endangered and giving way to Fur). But the (somewhat meagre) lexical data collected on Fongoro show that it is a dialectal variant of the Gula [kcm] language known from neighbouring regions of Sudan and CAR ( Doornbos, Paul and Bender, Lionel M. 1983: 70-75 , Nougayrol, Pierre 1999: 34-35 , 227-231, Boyeldieu, Pascal 2000: 21 ). See also: Gula (Central African Republic) [kcm].
