  abstract              = {This paper presents a sketch of the phonology and an overview of the phrase structures of Kam, a Kam-Sui language of the Kam-Tai language family, along with an introduction of its distribution and cultural background of the Kam ethnic group. The primary emphasis is on the treatment of the Kam noun and verb phrases within the framework of Generative Grammar. X-bar schema of NP and VP are extracted after analyzing of the internal organization is conducted; agreement and dependency among the phrase constituents is checked through. Special issues, such as passive structure and topicalization, are also discussed.},
