langnote = {As regards the first, the first polyglot dictionary I am aware of is the one started by Ambrogio Calepino (1435-1511). I say 'started' because it may initially have been just a Latin dictionary, but other languages were eventually added, and it became essentially a word list in multiple languages. Many, many editions appeared, and the title varied. The earliest one I've seen mentioned came out in Reggio in 1502, but I've never seen a copy of it. In the later editions, it's unclear how much was the work of Calepino himself and what was added by later scholars.},
