This paper provides a detailed description of the structural and semantic properties of this clause type in each language that exhibits it, identifying shared features and differences. Evidence is presented that it represents a distinct construction, of intermediate transitivity, and a grammatical analysis is proposed in terms of roles. The medio-active shows, however, few characteristics prototypical of the passive, and is not a voice option.}, aiatsis_code = {K13}, aiatsis_reference_language = {Nyulnyul}, citekeys = {cldf3:5471}, doi = {10.1075/sl.23.3.04mcg}, hhtype = {comparative (computerized assignment from "languages")}, inlg = {English [eng]}, isreferencedby = {cldf3}, issn = {0378-4177}, lgcode = {[nyul1247]}, macro_area = {Australia}, ozbib_id = {3874}, ozbibreftype = {17}, src = {benjamins, cldf, ozbib, zurich}, zurichcode = {Nyulnyul [NYV]} }
