Venezuelan Sign Language [vene1237] has a historical connection and also belongs to this family ( Williams, Holly and Elizabeth Parks 2012 ):9. This family has an independent history ( Carmen Cabeza-Pereiro and Silvia Iglesias-Lago 2015 ):730-731 and (contra Henri Wittmann 1991: 282 ) is not related to LSF, at least not so that it can be traced lexically ( Parkhurst, Stephen and Diane Parkhurst 2006 ):22, nor to Lengua de Señas Mexicana ( Parkhurst, Stephen and Diane Parkhurst 2006 ):22.
