Cochimi [coj] is an extinct language of Baja California. However, a very divergent vocabulary was collected around 1862 from a man called Robinia. This vocabulary is only 34 percent cognate with Cochimi and must represent a distinct language ( David Leedom Shaul 2020 ) as noted already by ( Rudolph C. Troike 1976: 160 ). For lack of a better name, this language may be called Robinia and was likely spoken somewhere on the northern third of the peninsula ( David Leedom Shaul 2020 ). See also: Cochimi [coj].
