The Malagasy, Tandroy-Mahafaly [tdx] in E16/E17/E18/E19/E20/E21/E22/E23/E24/E25/E26/E27/E28 subsumes varieties of which some pairs are lexically too distant to presume intelligibility ( Pierre Vérin and Conrad P. Kottak and Peter Gorlin 1969 , Serva, Maurizio and Michele Pasquini 2020 , Serva, Maurizio and Filippo Petroni and Dima Volchenkov and Søren Wichmann 2012 ). A possible improvement is to separate a Mahafaly-Antanalana entry from (at least some) Tandroy varieties. See also: Tandroy Malagasy [tdx].
