Amira, the language of Jebel El Amira to the south of Jebel Liri in the Nuba mountains of South Kordofan state, Sudan was argued by MacDiarmid, P. A. and MacDiarmid, D. N. 1931: 154-155 to form one language with Tegem [laf]. However, lexical comparison ( Blench, Roger 2016: 4 , Russell Norton 2025: 286 ) and observations of mutual unintelligibility ( Sosal Altayeb Mohammed Ali, Ahmed 2018: 6 ) show it to be a separate but closely related language See also: Lafofa [laf].
